Are you a school, organization, or mental health advocate?
We’re excited to introduce Dance Movement Therapy (DMT) workshops to schools and community organizations!
DMT uses intentional movement techniques to release physical trauma, build confidence, and support mental wellness. These sessions help youth tap into their emotional expression in a safe, supported space—where healing meets rhythm.
What is Dance Movement Therapy?
Dance Movement Therapy (DMT)—also known as dance/movement therapy—is a form of expressive therapy that uses movement and dance to support emotional, cognitive, physical, and social integration. It is grounded in the philosophy that the mind and body are deeply connected, and that movement can be a powerful way to express feelings, process trauma, and promote healing.
Key Aspects of Dance Movement Therapy:
• Body-Mind Connection: Emphasizes how emotions and experiences are stored in the body, and how movement can help release or process them.
• Nonverbal Expression: Offers a way for people to express themselves when words are difficult or unavailable.
• Healing Through Movement: Used to address a range of issues, including trauma, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and developmental challenges.
• Individual or Group Work: Can be practiced one-on-one or in group settings to foster connection, empathy, and community healing.
Who Leads It?
Dance Movement Therapy is facilitated by trained and/or certified professionals— often called Dance Movement Therapists—who assess movement patterns and guide participants through exercises tailored to their emotional and physical needs.
Common Settings:
• Mental health clinics
• Schools
• Hospitals and rehabilitation centers
• Community centers
• Wellness and trauma recovery programs
Program Overview
This program focuses on promoting physical wellness, mental well-being, cultural awareness, and inclusivity. With structured movement and choreography memorization, participants will engage in creative expression, build self-confidence, and develop a sense of community. The program promotes positive energy exchange, celebrates diversity, and empowers the body through dance, fostering mental clarity and emotional well-being. During sessions, high-vibrational music using Solfeggio frequencies is used to cleanse the space and promote mental clarity and manifestations.
By incorporating these elements, DanceSoul Foundation’s Dance Movement Therapy workshop supports the overall holistic development of its participants, nurturing physical and emotional well-being while celebrating diversity and promoting cultural awareness.
Our mission guides every step we take: to empower dancers to manifest their dreams with passion and purpose. With your support, we’re building stronger communities, one movement at a time. Let’s move toward a more mindful, emotionally resilient generation—one step at a time. 💫 Now booking DMT workshops for schools, community groups, and mental health programs.
